Product Type 8: Wood preservatives
Wood preservatives include products used to protect wood from the sawmill stage, or wood products with the control of organisms that destroy or degrade wood. This assortment includes both protective and corrective products.
The product type can be organized into two subtypes:
• Vacuum protectors and pressure protectors. Vacuum guards are mainly used for the protection of wooden doors and window frames, while pressure guards are used for exterior use wood such as wood that has a high risk of deterioration, i.e. wood that comes into contact with water or soil.
• Surface treatment protectors are used only to protect wooden structures that are exposed to moisture on the surface and dry easily.
The first subtype includes preservatives used in industrial processes, while surface treatment preservatives are mainly used by craftsmen and non-professionals.
