EN 17272

The purpose of the tests carried out within the scope of the EN 17272 standard is to determine the bactericidal activities of disinfectants used for air disinfection in an environment. The product to be tested are those of an automatic air-source surface disinfection system in a non-human environment that diffuses a gaseous product into the room by means of steam or compressed air.

Tests performed under the standard:
The Efficacy Test is performed to determine if the disinfectant meets the minimum efficacy requirements. Efficacy tests; Mycobactericidal activity, Sporicidal activity, Fungusidal activity, Yeasticidal activity, Virucidal activity, Phagocidal activity tests.

The Distribution Test is performed to evaluate the uniformity of Automatic airborne disinfection at all points on all surfaces of the enclosure and under conditions where the effects of gravity or reduced dispersion could affect the process. Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 = CIP 4.83 is used to achieve a reduction in the number of viable bacterial cells throughout the enclosure, 5g or more per test carrier.
