EN 1656

It contains the test method and minimum requirements for the bacteria-killing effectiveness of chemical disinfectant and antiseptic products within the scope of the EN 1656 standard. For the test method, the products must have a concentration of 80% or less.

EN 1656 test method can be performed on chemical disinfectant and antiseptic products used in the following areas.
• Equipment disinfection by immersion,
• Surface disinfection by wiping, spraying, flooding or other means
• Teat disinfection in the veterinary field

Microorganisms used in the standard are as follows:
• For the detection of bactericidal activity on surfaces; Enterococcus hirae Proteus hauseri1), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus
• For the detection of bactericidal activity in the teat in the veterinary field; Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus uberis

Chemical disinfectants and antiseptics to be used for teats in the veterinary field, at temperatures of 20 - 30 °C ± 1 °C, for 1 - 30 minutes of contact for teats before milking and after milking For the nipple, there should be 30 s – 3 minutes of contact.
