PAO (Period After Opening) Testing

PAO, that is, Period After Opening, can be defined as the ideal usage time of cosmetic and personal care products after they are opened. It has been made compulsory by the European Union since 2015 and is subject to 2 rules in general:

- Mandatory for new products that can be kept for longer than 30 months.
- When used for less than 30 months, the number in the logo should indicate the maximum time that the formula will preserve its initial properties.

It is tried to determine in advance how cosmetics and personal care products will undergo physical, chemical and microbiological changes during the use of open packaging.
